Pankaj Chaudhary Says Welfare and Infrastructure Push Reflects Ambedkar’s Vision at Saharanpur Event

Pankaj Chaudhary on Tuesday said that recent welfare and infrastructure initiatives by the Union government are aligned with the vision of B. R. Ambedkar, emphasising social equity and inclusive development.

Speaking at an event marking Ambedkar’s birth anniversary in Saharanpur, Chaudhary highlighted ongoing policy efforts and infrastructure expansion as part of a broader development agenda under Narendra Modi.

Key Announcements and Highlights

Chaudhary pointed to the inauguration of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor as a major infrastructure milestone. The project is expected to improve connectivity between Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

He said the corridor could enhance access to markets and reduce travel time, particularly benefiting districts such as Saharanpur. The project is also expected to contribute to regional economic activity and logistics efficiency.

Official Statement

Addressing the gathering, Chaudhary said that governance in recent years has been guided by constitutional principles and aimed at addressing the needs of economically weaker sections.

He stated that government initiatives have focused on inclusive development, citing the broader policy approach often summarised as “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”

Chaudhary also criticised opposition parties, alleging that earlier governments had not adequately recognised Ambedkar’s contributions. These remarks reflect political positions expressed at the event.

Context and Background

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, is widely regarded for his role in advocating social justice, equality, and the rights of marginalised communities. His birth anniversary is observed across the country on April 14.

Infrastructure development has been a key policy focus in recent years, with several expressway and corridor projects aimed at improving connectivity and economic integration across states.

Public Impact

Improved infrastructure such as the Delhi–Dehradun corridor is expected to reduce travel time and enhance trade routes, potentially benefiting businesses, commuters, and regional economies.

At the same time, political messaging around Ambedkar’s legacy continues to shape public discourse on governance, welfare schemes, and social equity.

The remarks by Pankaj Chaudhary underline the government’s emphasis on linking infrastructure growth with broader social objectives. As projects like the Delhi–Dehradun corridor progress, their long-term impact on regional development and accessibility will be closely watched.
