BJP-Led Government Brought Major Transformation in Assam Since 2016, Says Harish Dwivedi
Harish Dwivedi on Monday said Assam has undergone significant development since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state in 2016, attributing the changes to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister-elect Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Speaking to reporters in Guwahati ahead of Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony, Dwivedi said the BJP-led government had focused on infrastructure expansion, healthcare, education, welfare initiatives for women and employment opportunities for youth.
BJP Highlights Development Agenda in Assam
Dwivedi stated that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) received a strong electoral mandate because of what he described as the government’s development-oriented governance over the past several years.
According to him, the administration implemented projects aimed at improving connectivity, strengthening public services and accelerating economic growth across Assam. He also said the government would continue its development agenda during its new term in office.
“The public mandate reflects people’s confidence in the leadership of Narendra Modi and Himanta Biswa Sarma,” Dwivedi said while addressing the media.
Swearing-In Ceremony Scheduled in Guwahati
The swearing-in ceremony of the new Assam government is scheduled to take place at Khanapara in Guwahati on Tuesday morning. Dwivedi said several senior BJP leaders, Union ministers and chief ministers from different states are expected to attend the event.
The BJP-led NDA recently secured a decisive victory in the Assam Assembly elections, enabling the alliance to retain power in the northeastern state for a third consecutive term.
