Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor to Cut Travel Time, Boost Regional Growth: UP CM Yogi Adityanath
Speaking in Saharanpur on April 14, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the expected economic and connectivity benefits of the newly built Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor. The remarks came ahead of the project’s formal dedication to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Delhi–Baghpat–Saharanpur–Dehradun Economic Corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Saharanpur and Delhi. According to the Chief Minister, the journey that earlier took five to six hours will now take approximately two-and-a-half to three hours.
The improved road network is also expected to strengthen connectivity between Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the national capital, facilitating smoother movement of goods and people.
Adityanath said the corridor would particularly benefit districts such as Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut by improving access to markets for local products, including agricultural produce, fruits, vegetables, woodwork, and handicrafts.

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said the project would act as a catalyst for economic activity in the region. He credited the central government, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and the National Highways Authority of India for executing the project.
Adityanath stated that better connectivity would help farmers and entrepreneurs secure improved prices and expand their market reach. He also linked the project to broader development efforts under the current administration, emphasising infrastructure as a key driver of growth.
