Kerala Government Has Implemented 97% of Manifesto Promises, Says CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on April 6 said the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government has fulfilled 97% of its election manifesto commitments, citing a range of achievements across welfare, infrastructure, and employment sectors.
The statement was made during the release of a government progress report in Kannur.

The Chief Minister highlighted housing as a major focus area, stating that the LIFE Mission has delivered around five lakh homes, benefiting nearly 20 lakh people. Additional housing support was extended to fishing communities, with thousands of homes and flats allocated.
He also pointed to welfare measures, including financial assistance programmes that have supported over 16 lakh women across the state.
Employment and Education Initiatives
According to the report, Kerala has recorded a high number of public sector recruitments, with more than three lakh appointments made through the Public Service Commission.
The government also introduced initiatives such as “Connect to Work,” aimed at assisting job seekers financially while they search for employment. In education, free access has been extended up to the undergraduate level in state institutions.

Pinarayi Vijayan said the progress report reflects sustained efforts to deliver on electoral commitments. He noted that most promises made during the previous Assembly elections have either been completed or are in advanced stages of implementation.
He added that delays in achieving certain targets, such as land title distribution, were due to administrative processes like digital land surveys.
Infrastructure and Development Projects
The government outlined several infrastructure initiatives, including investments in hill and coastal highways and the launch of the Kalladi–Anakkampoyil tunnel road project aimed at improving connectivity in Wayanad.
The Chief Minister also highlighted progress in major projects such as the Vizhinjam International Seaport, which is expected to be completed by 2028.
Additionally, the state contributed a share of land acquisition costs for National Highway 66 projects to accelerate implementation.
