DPS Hinjawadi Celebrates Republic Day with ‘Khushi Utsav’, Fostering Empathy, Inclusion, and Civic Values

Delhi Public School (DPS), Hinjawadi commemorated Republic Day 2026 in a meaningful and heartwarming manner through Khushi Utsav and Khushi Bazaar, an initiative inspired by the constitutional ideals of empathy, inclusivity, equality, and shared responsibility.

As part of the celebrations, the school warmly welcomed 50 families from a nearby Zilla Parishad (ZP) school in Nande village. Students and their family members were hosted as special guests, creating a space of mutual respect and togetherness. Carefully curated utility and learning kits were distributed to the visiting families with dignity, reinforcing the values of compassion, equality, and respect.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from DPS Hinjawadi students, who actively engaged in various activities with a strong spirit of service and joy. Adding to the festive atmosphere were parent-led stalls offering food, ice creams, and simple games. These stalls were set up as gestures of sharing and happiness, making the occasion lively and welcoming. Adventure zones and activity corners further ensured that the visiting children and families enjoyed an engaging and memorable experience.

One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the flag unfurling ceremony, which was jointly conducted by the youngest child from the visiting ZP school and the Principal of DPS Hinjawadi. This symbolic gesture powerfully represented unity, equality, and collective pride in the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Jaya Parekh highlighted the importance of togetherness and shared values. She reiterated the message of “Anekta mein ekta hai, aur ekta mein bal hai” — unity in diversity and strength in unity. Emphasising that all children are equal, she spoke about how the joy of sharing becomes a meaningful and lifelong learning experience.

The initiative received heartfelt appreciation from the ZP school Principal, teachers, and students, who praised DPS Hinjawadi for its inclusive culture, committed staff, enthusiastic student participation, and the thoughtful intent behind the programme.

Envisioned as the beginning of a long-term commitment, Khushi Utsav and Khushi Bazaar are planned to evolve into an annual Republic Day tradition at DPS Hinjawadi. The initiative reflects the school’s belief that education should go beyond academics to nurture empathy, responsibility, and active citizenship among learners.
