Odisha CM Majhi Announces ₹1,330 Crore Development Package for Kendujhar
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on April 29 announced a development package worth ₹1,330 crore for Kendujhar district, unveiling a mix of new and ongoing projects aimed at improving infrastructure, public transport and economic activity.
The announcement was made during a public event where the Chief Minister also inaugurated completed works and laid the foundation for upcoming initiatives.

Push for Urban Transport and Green Mobility
A key highlight of the announcement was the launch of 25 electric buses under the state’s public transport initiative, along with a newly built ‘Ama Bus’ depot.
The buses are equipped with air-conditioning, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras and emergency features such as panic buttons. Officials said the service is designed to provide affordable travel, with fares starting at ₹5, particularly benefiting daily commuters.
The government also indicated that the shift to electric buses could help reduce annual carbon emissions, aligning with broader efforts to promote environmentally sustainable transport.
