PM Narendra Modi to Launch Gujarat Semiconductor Plant, Unveil Projects Worth ₹20,000 Crore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on March 31 to inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth over ₹20,000 crore. The visit will span key sectors including semiconductors, infrastructure, energy, and cultural development.

A major highlight of the visit is the inauguration of a semiconductor facility at Sanand in Ahmedabad district. The plant, developed by Kaynes Technology, is expected to produce advanced power modules used in automotive and industrial applications.
The facility is being positioned as part of India’s broader push to build domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities—an area considered critical for reducing reliance on imports and strengthening the electronics supply chain.
Infrastructure and Connectivity Projects
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for several large-scale infrastructure projects. These include the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway and upgrades to key road corridors, aimed at improving connectivity within the state.
Railway developments include track doubling projects and the introduction of new train services to enhance regional mobility. In addition, renewable energy infrastructure, including a pooling station for solar power transmission in Khawda, will be part of the announcements.
Cultural and Social Initiatives
Earlier in the day, Modi will inaugurate the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba near Gandhinagar, coinciding with Mahavir Jayanti. The museum is dedicated to Jain heritage and is expected to showcase historical artifacts and manuscripts using modern digital technology.
Other initiatives include improvements to public facilities such as night shelters at hospitals and student hostels, as well as projects aimed at enhancing tourism through light-and-sound installations at heritage sites.
