Why Is Reliance Power’s ₹59.73 Spike Making Investors Buzz?

Mumbai, June 10, 2025: Reliance Power, under Anil Ambani’s leadership, has set the stock market on fire with its share price zooming to ₹59.73, up by a whopping 15% in just one day. This sudden jump has got investors excited, and here’s why everyone’s talking about it.

The big spark comes from Reliance Power’s bold move into green energy. Its subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies, recently bagged a massive 350 MW solar power project from SJVN, a government-backed power company. This project also includes a 175 MW battery storage system, making it a key player in India’s push for clean energy. With the country aiming for more renewable energy, this deal has made investors see Reliance Power as a hot bet.

Money matters are also looking up for the company. In the January-March 2025 quarter, Reliance Power turned things around with a profit of ₹126 crore, compared to a ₹397 crore loss the year before. For the full year, it reported a massive ₹2,947 crore profit. This shows the company is cutting costs and running its operations better, which has boosted trust in its future.

The stock market is loving this story. Reliance Power’s shares have jumped nearly 140% in the last year, and trading volumes are through the roof—over 51 crore shares changed hands on May 30, 2025, alone. The stock even hit a 10-year high of ₹60.50 recently, showing how much investors believe in its growth.

Reliance Power isn’t stopping at India. The company has signed a deal with Bhutan’s Druk Holding to build a 500 MW solar plant, the biggest in Bhutan. This global expansion is making investors dream big about Reliance Power’s place in the world’s energy market.

But it’s not all smooth sailing. Some experts warn that the stock’s price-to-earnings ratio of 370 is very high, meaning it might be overpriced. Analysts like Riyank Arora from Mehta Equities say if the stock doesn’t climb past ₹65 soon, it could drop back to ₹58-59. So, while the buzz is real, investors need to be careful and check with financial advisors before diving in.

With its focus on clean energy, stronger finances, and a hot streak in the market, Reliance Power’s ₹59.73 spike is no surprise. It’s carving a new path in India’s energy sector, but will it keep shining? Investors are watching closely, and the excitement is far from over.
